Ready to climb out of the box?

It’s human nature to take whatever world we live in and make it as comfy and cozy as possible. This is true for those who have little or much. Whether your world exists in a luxurious mansion or a cardboard box we line our environment with goodness, cheer, hopes and ambition. We fill it with the things that give us comfort and it satisfies our need to feel protected. It works… if only for a moment in time.

But just like the fragility of a cardboard box, life comes with an inherent problem: no matter how hard you try to ignore it, the outside world changes and eventually starts pressing on your world and weakening it.

At some point in time you begin to realize that if you don’t take control of changing your world, change will happen TO you… and it may not be what you want in your life.

Outside influences have already had a drastic impact on many health & wellness professions: medical, dental, optometry, chiropractic, fitness, nutrition, mental health, and massage therapy to name a few.

Influences like insurance, franchises, conglomerates, legislation, discount purchasing programs (like GroupOn), and national advertising campaigns.

If you are a health & wellness professional, you may want to stay in your little box and pretend these do not impact you… BUT THEY DO NO MATTER YOUR SPECIALTY! These outside influences de-value your expertise, define wellness for the masses, and undermine your dream.

With a roll of duct tape, some baling wire, and chewing gum – and a hope and a prayer – you McGyver your box together as it starts to fall apart.

It’s time to poke your head outside the box and see that while the outside world is changing there are people working hard to deliver new options to support your vision.

At You Define Wellness, we’re one of those who are working hard to make the world a better place for both health & wellness professionals AND their clients/patients, and – quite frankly – we NEED you to climb out of your rapidly transforming world and see that it’s time to make some changes BEFORE CHANGE HAPPENS TO YOU.

You may be thinking,

“I’m just one person, I can’t change what is happening in the world.”

Holy mack…

You – combined with the 432,000 +/- other independent health & wellness professionals across the country from all modalities – have so much power it’s mind-blowing!

But we need those still sleeping to wake up, climb out of your box, and join up with other change-makers.

You’ve got to speak up.

We need industry groups to work together. We need social media posts in industry forums and on pages where the general public will see them. We need health & wellness professionals from different modalities to start interacting.

You’ve GOT to come together toward a common goal!

And that begs the question…

WHAT is the common goal?

Or what should it be?
  1. Help consumers understand health & wellness options that are not typically included in their medical insurance plan;
  2. Provide a way to financially support accessing those options at payment levels determined by the health & wellness professional;
  3. Become an influencer with corporate decision makers of health & wellness education and programs for their employees; and,
  4. Create community among all health & wellness professionals understanding that there are many paths to healthy living and it’s up to the consumer to determine what is right for themself.

Of course we want you to join You Define Wellness and the hundreds of health & wellness professionals already in our network, but – if not us – then please find some group working on the common goals listed above… just don’t ask us for a referral because we don’t know of anyone else doing what we’re doing.

If you’re interested in learning more about who we are and what we’re doing, then settle in with your favorite beverage and watch this podcast where I was interviewed by Radiate Wellness in Kansas City, KS. It was a great discussion and you’ll learn so much.
