Dental Fear Release Coach

Dental fear is NOT a phobia. It is a result of TRAUMA. It is similar to PTSD. Dr. HS Bracha developed the diagnosis of Post Traumatic Dental Anxiety in 2006. Dental trauma starts with an incident where the patient is frightened by treatment during a dental procedure. It is not intentional but leaves a lasting effect on the patient. In many cases they develop a lifelong fear of dental treatment, as well as suffering from chronic disease and pain.

Sound familiar? You have a throbbing toothache so you finally get up the nerve to call a doctor. You find one through family or friends. Maybe online under “gentle”. You show up with high hopes but it is always the same. The smell alone makes you sick to your stomach. You struggle through the procedure to get you out of pain. They take out your tooth or start a root canal. They tell you to come back for a “cleaning”. Maybe they were nice. Maybe not.

Maybe you follow through for a bit and come back a few times. Eventually, something happens and you stop going. Years go by until the next toothache. You may go back to the previous office. Embarrassment may cause you to look for another office. Back on the merry-go-round…

I have observed hundreds of patients repeat this scenario, over and over. I have seen the same patient at different practices throughout my career!

I have worked hard to understand the basis of dental trauma. It is often a biological issue in the mouth, linked to airway protection.

I can help you understand why you have dental fear and ease your shame. I can teach you techniques to make dental treatment easier. There is no need to suffer from dental fear and pain any longer!

I look forward to helping you get your oral health back and gain the confidence to approach dental care without fear and shame!
