I love Mondays!

Do you get to Friday and say, “wow this week went fast for me”?  I hope so.  If not that probably means you like weekends a lot better than your work week.  I like weekends, but I also really like every day of the week.  I’m pretty unique that way.  Can you say, “I love Mondays!?

I used to dread Mondays.  Going to an office that wasn’t very exciting.  Doing work that didn’t seem very satisfying.  Dealing with people who were angry or bored with their work or co-workers.  Lots of gossiping.  I didn’t feel like I was being and doing all I could do or making a difference in the world.  Just going through the motions for a pay check and dreaming of my next vacation.

This isn’t good for your mental or physical health.  It drains you and brings negative thoughts into your life that effect your body similar to what toxic foods, products or pollution do to it.  Negative emotions don’t inspire you.  You get a negative attitude for life.

This is probably heightened now with covid and so many people stressed about losing a job, working at home and no leaving the house much, no community or interaction except on the computer, less physical activity and more.  We all need a mental reboot.

I’m very glad I have found a career and field I am excited about  I wish I could work on this stuff all day every day.  I love learning and sharing and helping people find their ideal life and body!  Even in tough times like this.  There are ways to create a life you enjoy and find peace and purpose.

Another way to think of it or test your level of satisfaction with your career and life is thinking about vacations.  You want to have a life you don’t need to escape from by going on vacation.  I love travel and exploring new cities and countries, trying new foods, meeting new and seeing old friends, but I don’t count the days, hours, and minutes to the next time I can take a long break from work.  You might think who can really like their job or career THAT much.

This is one of the areas I help people work through in their health journey as everything in your life effects your health.  The food you put in your mouth is more of a secondary nutrient.  If you don’t have your primary foods, relationships, career, spirituality and physical activity also working well in your life, it’s hard for food to heal you.

So if you are looking for support in this area or others to get you to that life that brings you joy and you don’t dread Mondays, let’s talk.  Otherwise, if you want to try things on your own, think about ways you could tweak one little thing in one of the four areas I just mentioned to make your life a bit more enjoyable and fun.

I’d love to hear about your challenges in any of your primary foods areas and what steps you are taking to make they better.   michelle@healthyhorizonsllc.com
