Hello!  I’m Denise O’Malley, founder of You Define Wellness.

I’ve been answering questions from wellness professionals like yourself since early 2016 and have a fairly good idea of what might be on your mind.  Below are the frequently asked questions, and my responses.

I am 100% positive you will have more questions, and I invite you to complete the contact form and ask them… there is no question too silly to ask and none that I will avoid answering.

This is the #1 question we get from wellness professionals, so let’s get it out of the way.

The answer, quite frankly, is probably few – if any – at the moment.

Let me explain… we launched You Define Wellness on 1/1/2016 with one provider, my husband Bill who is a massage therapist.  In the ensuing months/years, we’ve been building something that has never existed before: an employee benefit program that empowers employees to seek alternative forms of health and wellness care.  This is not something where you can wave a magic wand and it appears; it takes time, effort, and constantly making adjustments.

We’ve successfully added over 200 wellness locations to our network directory representing well over 400 professionals like yourself… but that’s only a start.  We will need about 1,000 locations in Colorado alone as we grow throughout the state.

At the same time, we’ve also been working on the product… and I’m very happy to say that it now is done, after creating, testing, adjusting, and testing again (multiple times).  During this entire time we have been delivering wellness education classes – and our online catalog of classes – for employers such as the City of Centennial and South Suburban Parks & Recreation District, to name two.

As of 1/1/2019, we added our first full clients with wellness education and employee access to your services.  As you may know, getting the first clients is the hard part… and now we’re past that hurdle.

So we might not have employers yet in your area… and that is why we’ve built in so much added value for being part of our network. 

I know, I know… when you join the network for an insurance plan, they don’t make you pay a fee. Right?

But they also tell you how much you’re going to make, don’t typically offer added value, and can take weeks to pay you an amount that is a fraction of what you typically charge.

We don’t do any of that.  Because we’re giving you the world, and honoring your central position within our company and product, we believe you should have skin in the game.  Remember, our program delivers a great deal to you: clients at normal retail rates, business exposure, marketing opportunities, discounts for your business, and never a monthly or annual fee to remain part of our plan.

The fee also covers our cost of conducting a thorough background investigation.

You have two options:

  • OPTION ONE: Contract your office and list all services on your provider profile.  Your office will be paid when a You Define Wellness client is seen and you are responsible for paying your independent contractor.  You are also responsible for ensuring that all in your office are properly licensed and that you have conducted a background check.
    • NOTE: We have retained the services of a Private Investigator for our due diligence and background investigation.  In Option One, YOU are assuring us that you have completed a background investigation of your associates including license verification and reputation; we will be happy to do this investigation for you at any time for a nominal fee per associate.  For more information, or to discuss, contact us.
  • OPTION TWO: Invite your independent contractors to join separately and we’ll discount the joining fee since multiple people will be signing up to be part of our network.  With this option, we are conducting extensive due diligence on each practitioner and – if they move to another location – they can still see You Define Wellness clients.

We go to great lengths to ensure all wellness professionals meet our standards.  The check we do includes a criminal background investigation, review of licenses with the state regulatory bodies, and a reputation investigation.

  • Complete the online application and pay the  joining fee.
  • Our team will start the due diligence process which can take 24-48 hours depending on our workload.  If we have any questions, which is rare, we will contact you.
  • You will receive a Welcome email from me with instructions to set up your Provider Profile.  Please do not overlook this step as you will NOT be active in our system until we have completed this step.
